Leading
supplier of biometric peripherals teams up with time management
solutions software provider to assure secure and accurate
employee time tracking
San Jose, CA (May 2,
2000) - SecuGen Corporation, a leading
developer, manufacturer and supplier of unique and versatile biometric
devices and peripherals, today announced a partnership with Data
Management, Inc. to
become the biometrics hardware supplier for Data Management's TimeClock
Plus, a PC-based time and attendance management system.
Data Management, based in San
Angelo, Texas is a leading technology-based provider of labor management solutions
for small to enterprise level businesses.
TimeClock Plus 3.0, is a simple-to-use, yet
sophisticated time and attendance system that replaces the traditional
time clock with a software package that allows hourly workers to
record punch-in and punch-out times via PC workstations, card readers,
Palm Pilots, and now, biometric fingerprint recognition systems.
"The combination of
SecuGen's biometric technology and hardware products, and Data Management's
TimeClock Plus software now eliminates the age old problem of employees
clocking each other in, which is often referred to as 'buddy punching',"
s tated Ann Walker, VP
of marketing at SecuGen. "This biometrics time management
solution offers 100% confirmation of the identity of each employee
performing clock transactions," added Walker.
SecuGen will be supplying
Data Management with its EyeD
Mouse II, EyeD Keyboard and EyeD Hamster.
Each of the EyeD PC peripherals is installed with SecuGen's
patent-pending fingerprint recognition module. The high contrast,
zero distortion fingerprint image generated by SecuGen's breakthrough
optical design assures reliable user identification at all times.
"By integrating the use
of SecuGen's hardware peripherals with TimeClock Plus, we will now
be able to provide optimum check-in and check-out security at any
PC or workstation with convenience and ease-of-use for management
and employees," stated Mark Moorman, vice president of operations
at Data Management.
Biometric verification
is achieved via the combination of Data Management's TimeClock Plus
software and SecuGen's biometrics hardware. During
initial enrollment, employees register a fingerprint image
via the module embedded in the EyeD PC Peripheral. There, the fingerprint is captured
as a unique and secure digital template, which is then stored
in the database for use in authenticating that particular person
in the future. Each subsequent
use of TimeClock Plus requires an exact match.
Now small
to enterprise level businesses have a powerful way to assure secure
and accurate time and attendance management of employees in a versatile
and affordable PC-based hardware and software combination. The system
is secure, fast, and provides employers with virtually "fraud-proof"
time and attendance data for payroll and labor management purposes.
